Indoor Air purification
What are whole-house air purifiers?
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, we have come to realize how important clean air is. Indoor air quality is vital to maintaining our health and enjoying a clean home.
The sole purpose of a whole-house air purifier is to improve the air quality of your home. They effectively remove odors caused by smoking, cooking, pets, or musty smells that grow in closed-in areas.
A whole-house air purification system ties directly into your existing HVAC ductwork, filtering particulates, viruses, bacteria, and VOCs out of your home’s air.
There are two main types of whole-house air purifiers; Mechanical and UV: Residential Air Purifiers
- Mechanical air purifiers use a filter to remove particles from the air. These come in both single and multi-stage filters.
- Single-stage air filters are best for smaller homes with less air volume.
- Multi-stage air filters offer the greatest level of filtration and are best for larger homes or those with pets.
- UV air purifiers use ultraviolet light to kill viruses and bacteria in the air.
So, which type of whole-house air purifier do I need?
That depends on your level of concern over indoor air quality….
If you have kids or pets, live in the city, are pregnant, or smoke cigarettes, your family will benefit from better mechanical filtration as well as a UV light installation.
